I love SlideShare and it’s ability to share presentations by embedding them. This functionality allows you to embed presentations into a web page so that they can be viewed from any browser, regardless of whether the computer has PowerPoint, OpenOffice, etc. installed. This is an effective tool for making presentation materials available for student use online without removing them from the context of your web site or online course.

In the past, one thing I haven’t liked about SlideShare is that they display “related” presentations at the end of each slideshow. For school use, not knowing what content might appear at the end of your presentation is a little scarey.

Now, though, you can get an embed code without related presentations. To get this, just press the Custom button under embed. Kudos to Slideshare for adding this!
